Irvine Lake Picks Up Slack for Lunker Trout

Share

Trout season has ended in the Eastern Sierra, but it has just begun at Irvine Lake.

Nine tons of trout--some weighing 16 pounds--were stocked at the Orange County reservoir before last Thursday’s opener, and since then fishermen have had little trouble catching them.

Bill Bishop of Torrance has caught the largest so far, an 8 3/4-pounder. Chris Avadach of Laguna Beach caught nine totaling 17 pounds.
