THE SIDELINES : Sanchez Advances in Moscow

Second-seeded Emilio Sanchez of Spain defeated unseeded Veli Paloheimo of Finland, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2, in the third round of the Kremlin Cup tennis tournament today and advanced to the semifinals.

Petr Korda of Czechoslovakia rallied to beat Jan Gunnarsson of Sweden, 1-6, 7-6, 6-2, in reaching Friday’s semifinals.

Also advancing were Sergio Casal of Spain, who defeated Marc Rosset of Switzerland, 6-4, 6-3, and Anders Jarryd of Sweden, who beat David Wheaton of the United States, 6-3, 7-5.
