LOCAL : Driver Wounds 2 With Shotgun
Two youths were wounded Thursday when a man pulled a shotgun out of his car during a traffic dispute in Glendale and shot at them, police said.
Two 17-year-old boys got into an argument with a motorist in the 5000 block of Lauderdale Avenue about 5:30 p.m., police said. The motorist pulled out a shotgun from his car and fired about eight rounds of birdshot at the pair.
The victims’ names were not released. One was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center with wounds to the back. His companion was taken to Verdugo Hills Hospital and treated for wounds to his arms.
Police found the suspect, Duane DeHaven, 32, hiding near a house nearby. He was arrested and booked at Glendale City Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Sgt. Jim Lowrey said.
The nature of the dispute was unknown.
