Narcotics Suspect Flees Scene, Is Killed in Crash
A narcotics suspect was killed while trying to elude police Friday when his car crashed into a tree, flipped over and crushed him, police said.
Undercover officers saw the suspect allegedly engaged in a drug transaction near Vermont Avenue and Pico Boulevard near Koreatown about 11:30 a.m.
When the suspect saw police move closer he sped away in his car, police spokesman Don Lawrence said.
The suspect, a juvenile who was not identified, drove about half a mile at speeds described as excessive, and apparently lost control of the car.
