Countywide : HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

Sunday is Veterans Day. The following will be closed Monday to observe the holiday:

All county, state and federal offices.

All public elementary, junior high and high schools, as well as the community colleges. Classes will be in session at UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton and Chapman College.

County, state and federal courthouses.

All libraries in the county library system and most city-run libraries.

All major banks and many of the savings and loans. Exceptions include Pomona First Federal and Union Federal Savings.

City offices will be closed, with the following exceptions: Brea, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Los Alamitos, San Clemente, Westminster and Yorba Linda. City councils in Cypress, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach and Seal Beach and planning commissions in Costa Mesa and Tustin will meet on Tuesday instead of their regularly scheduled Monday meeting. Santa Ana Planning Commission will meet Wednesday instead of Monday. Garden Grove and Los Alamitos city councils and the Westminster Planning Commission will meet on Monday as usual.

Mail: There will be no mail delivery on Monday. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

Trash: Trash will be picked up on regular schedule by city and county refuse workers Monday.

Buses: Orange County Transit District buses will run on regular schedule. There will be dial-a-ride and car-pool services available on the holiday.

Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities will be open during regular hours Monday.
