Fans Didn’t Ask for Shorter Games
This is another in what I am sure is an absolute deluge of letters protesting the shortening of NFL games this year. The fan is not fooled. We never asked to shorten the games by an average of 20 plays. We know that it is television that dictates decision-making in this matter. Networks wanted the games to fit into their three-hour packages, and the NFL has responded to its master’s voice. Hopefully, common sense will prevail and football will remember that the fans are what the game is really for.
