TRAFFIC JAM: Ex-Cars front man Rick Ocasek has just signed with Warner Bros. Records, where he’ll begin recording his third solo album later this month with Nile Rodgers at the production helm. . . . Digital Underground play themselves in a couple of scenes in the upcoming film “Valkenvania,” directed by Dan Aykroyd. The film’s soundtrack will also feature “Same Song,” first single from the rap faves’ new EP, aptly titled “This Is an EP Release.” Due out Jan. 16, it also features such new tunes as “Tie the Knot” and “Nuttin’ Nis Funky.” . . . Is this cute or what? Styx’s new album features a song called “Carrie Anne.” But it’s not a version of the old Hollies hit. It’s a song Dennis De Young wrote about his 19-year-old daughter, Carrie Anne, who was named after the Hollies song. . . . If you want to brush up on your movie-music lore, catch up with CBS Special Products’ new “Rock Goes to the Movies” series. The five-CD compilation’s host of rare film tracks includes the Yardbirds doing “Stroll On” from “Blow-Up,” an assortment of Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead songs from “Zabriskie Point,” the Animals’ version of “Around and Around” from “Get Yourself a College Girl,” Ray Charles doing the title song from “The Cincinnati Kid” and the Hollies (with Peter Sellers!) performing the title cut from “After the Fox.”
