Scan came on in the final yards to win the $177,600 Remsen Stakes for 2-year-olds Saturday at Aqueduct in a finish that saw only three-quarters of a length separate the first three horses.

Scan, ridden by Jerry Bailey and carrying 119 pounds, was a nose in front of Subordinated Debt. Subordinated Debt, 115, with Mike Smith riding, was three-quarters of a length in front of Kyle’s Our Man, 113, with Jorge Chavez up.

Scan, racing 1 1/8 miles for the first time in five starts, recorded his third consecutive victory. He covered the distance in 1:52 2/5 on the sloppy track to earn $106,500 for William Hagan Perry. He returned $3.80.
