NBA ROUNDUP : Olajuwon’s Wake-Up Call Spurs Rockets
After a heartbreaking loss the night before at San Antonio, the Houston Rockets didn’t appear to be ready when their game against Utah began Sunday night at Houston.
So, the Jazz jumped in front early by 15 points.
But Akeem Olajuwon woke up the Rockets and by the second half they were flying. They romped to a 110-90 victory, pulling Houston to .500 (3-3).
Olajuwon scored 15 points in the first quarter and finished with 31 points and 21 rebounds. He scored seven in a 21-2 run that broke the game open in the fourth quarter.
Minnesota 108, Orlando 81--The Timberwolves are beating up on other expansion teams. Friday they trounced Charlotte, 106-77.
In this rout of Orlando (0-6) at Minneapolis, the Wolves broke it open with a 30-10 spurt in the third quarter. Tony Campbell had eight of his 24 in the spurt.
The Magic have lost 21 of their past 22 games.
