Down Side to Redevelopment

Almost to a person you will not find anyone who is for community redevelopment who owns land in that area. When Bunker Hill took land years ago for the Redevelopment Agency, land and business owners had heart attacks, strokes, etc. when they saw their lifetime land investments stolen by the CRA. Now it is happening in North Hollywood. I know of deaths already caused by eminent domain in the 12 years the CRA has been in North Hollywood.

Few of the people on the PAC own land, but they delegate how landowners dispose of their land, profit or not.

Statistics show that 50% of those who locate elsewhere because of the loss of their place of business to the CRA go out of business--many because of loss of contact with regular customers.

I was elected for a two-year term as a business and landowner, but when I changed to only the landowner category, I was forced to run again. I got less than 50% of the votes, and more than a dozen non-landowners were elected, when the PAC changed the voting to restrict the public from balloting. Only PAC members were allowed to vote.
