Share

The city will add four methanol-fueled cars to its fleet, for a cost of about $70,000 paid by the state.

The four demonstration cars are part of the state’s Fuel Flexible Vehicle program to help reduce air pollution and will replace four city vehicles, officials said.

The methanol-fueled cars will be monitored by the California Energy Commission as part of an ongoing study of their efficiency, operation and maintenance.
