Jacobs Group Increasing Staff in Houston: Jacobs Engineering Group, a Pasadena-based engineering and construction firm, plans to boost staff at its regional headquarters in Houston by 500 people during the next three years. The new hires, primarily engineers and designers, will be needed because of a sharp upturn in refinery work stimulated by passage of the Clean Air Act. Jacobs’ employment in Houston is expected to rise to 1,500.
