Advisory Group for Blue Line Art
The Los Angeles County Transportation Commission is inviting Rancho Dominguez residents to participate in the selection of an artist to design murals for the Metro Blue Line’s Del Amo Boulevard station.
A community meeting on the program, dubbed Art for Rail Transit, will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dominguez Ranch House Adobe on the 18100 block of South Alameda Street. At that meeting, residents will select a citizens advisory group to oversee the art project.
The group will write a community profile describing the neighborhood. The artist will use this as a guide for his work at the station, said Transportation Commission spokesman David Hershenson. The group also will choose two of its members to help select the artist.
