ON THE SIDELINES : Dolphins Sign 2 Pass Receivers
The Miami Dolphins placed backup receiver Fred Banks on injured reserve today and signed two free agent receivers--Dennis McKinnon and James Pruitt.
Banks will miss at least four games after fracturing his left foot in practice Thursday.
He is the second receiver to go on injured reserve this week; starter Mark Clayton suffered a knee injury in last Sunday’s victory over the New York Jets and will also be sidelined for at least a month.
Pruitt played with the Dolphins in 1986-88 before signing with the Indianapolis Colts as a Plan B free agent. The Colts waived him on Sept. 17.
McKinnon played with the Chicago Bears from 1983 to 1989. He went to Dallas as a Plan B free agent and caught 14 passes for 172 yards this season before the Cowboys waived him Wednesday.
Banks has caught 13 passes for 131 yards this year.
