Andrew P. Solt, 74, playwright and screenwriter who co-wrote the 1948 film “Joan of Arc.” The Hungarian-born writer, known to friends as “Bundy,” came to Hollywood in 1939 to convert his internationally successful play, “They All Kissed the Bride,” for film. He wrote a series of hit films in the 1940s, including “Without Reservations” starring John Wayne and Claudette Colbert, “The Jolson Story,” starring Larry Parks, and, with Maxwell Anderson, “Joan of Arc,” starring Ingrid Bergman and Jose Ferrer. He also wrote for the critically acclaimed television series “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “Ford Theater” and “General Electric Theater.” On Nov. 4 in West Hollywood after a stroke.
