Florida Fall Booklet Gives Hotel Discounts

The Great Fall Get-Away discount coupon booklet, which offers discounted rates at hotels, motels and tourist attractions in a large part of central Florida, is again available free of charge through the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Convention & Visitors Bureau.

One change in the program involves hotels and motels. The new booklet contains no coupons for lodging, but discounts may still be obtained by making advance reservations at the 46 properties listed in the booklet. The toll-free reservations number is (800) 333-5477.

Discounts of at least 20% are available at selected Econolodges, Hilton Hotels, Holiday Inns, Howard Johnsons, Hyatts, Ramadas, Sheratons and Travelodges. Discounted rates range from $15 to $75 per night (excluding villas) for individuals and groups up to four.

Among the additional benefits offered by some of the lodgings are free breakfasts for children under a certain age, separate discounts at restaurants and extra nights at no charge after a minimum stay.

In order to receive the discount, make sure that you ask for a Great Fall rate when you call the toll-free number.

The coupons in the discount booklet are accepted at nearly 20 sightseeing attractions, mostly in central Florida. Some of the coupons are on a 2-for-1 basis, but a discount of at least 20% is always in effect. Moreover, some coupons may provide discounts off admission prices for up to six persons, which is a good deal for families.

Among the participating attractions are Busch Gardens in Tampa, the Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral, Silver Springs Park in Silver Springs, Universal Studios Florida in Orlando and Gatorland and Water Mania in Kissimmee. Arabian Nights and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Kissimmee are two of the dinner show options.

The coupons and hotel/motel discounts are good until the end of the year, with some valid through Feb. 28. However, accommodations are not discounted on holidays.
