TransTechnology’s Loss Narrows in 2nd Quarter

TransTechnology Corp., a Sherman Oaks maker of products for the aerospace and military markets, reported a $745,000 loss for its fiscal second quarter, compared with a loss of $802,000 a year earlier.

The loss in the quarter that ended Sept. 30 stemmed from a $1.7-million loss from discontinued operations. Excluding those businesses, earnings from TransTechnology’s continuing lines rose to $952,000 from $120,000, and its revenue from continuing operations rose 3% to $46.8 million from $45.5 million.

For the first half of its fiscal year, TransTechnology lost $451,000, compared with a $4.16-million loss a year earlier, and its six-month revenue from continuing operations climbed 4% to $90 million from $86.7 million.
