GM Recalls 520,000 Cars: General Motors Corp. said it is recalling the cars for potentially defective brake light switches. Cars involved include certain 1989 and 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and Buick Regal models, as well as certain 1990 Chevrolet Lumina cars. The cars may have a faulty electrical switch that could cause the brake lights to either not work at all or remain lighted all the time. On cars with cruise-control, the cruise function may go to the “resume” mode upon release of the brakes. GM dealers will replace the switches at no cost to customers.
