A cornucopia of brilliant sunshine, blue skies and gentle breezes will be served up this Thanksgiving weekend as a weak Santa Ana condition builds. Cooler nights will counteract the warmer days, the National Weather Service said.

Erase all memory of this week’s wetter beginnings, senior meteorologist Wilbur Shigehara said. Monday’s storm that brought 0.53 of an inch of rain has moved north, leaving in its wake Chamber of Commerce weather, he said.

“This Santa Ana that is building is not disturbing at all, no winds of madness,” Shigehara said. “It will bring warming, gentle breezes and low humidities at least through the middle of next week.”

Beach highs today will be 64 to 68, he said. Ocean temperature through Sunday will be about 63 degrees, normal for this time of year.

The surf is 4 to 6 feet. Today’s high tide will be 6.5 feet at 7:30 a.m.

Coastal highs today will be 68 to 74, nudging up about 2 degrees each day through the weekend. Overnight lows will be 40 to 50, Shigehara said.

Inland Thanksgiving Day temperatures will be 75 to 80 and may climb as high as 85 by Saturday, Shigehara said. Lows will dip into the mid-30s, and frost could be seen in some of the coldest inland areas.

Gusty winds of up to 30 m.p.h. will be found in the mountains, where daytime highs will be in the mid-50s, Shigehara said. Thanksgiving night, however, the mercury is expected to drop into the low 20s, and the night and early-morning pattern should continue through Sunday, he said.

Desert highs today will be 80 to 85, climbing several degrees each day through the weekend. Lows will remain near 45 tonight through Sunday.
