Australia’s Brett Ogle conquered swirling winds and rock-hard greens for a 1-under-par 70 today and a one-stroke lead over Wayne Grady of Australia after the second round of the Australian PGA golf championship in Sydney.

Ogle had a 36-hole total of 7-under 135 on the 6,979-yard Riverside Oaks course.

“It used to be very difficult to control my nerves, but I’ve learned how to do that,” Ogle said. “The older I’m getting, the wiser I’m getting.”

Grady, the U.S. PGA champion, had a round of 71 for a two-round total of 136.

“I was hitting the ball well but the course was really tough in the afternoon,” Grady said. “I’m not unhappy with the way I played at all.”
