The Sidelines : Foreman Dec. 5 Bout Canceled
A boxing show scheduled to have former heavyweight champion George Foreman on the undercard was postponed today by its promoter.
World Boxing Council featherweight champion Marcos Villasana of Mexico had been scheduled to fight British champion Sean Murphy at the London Arena on Dec. 5.
According to promoter Frank Warren, the show has been put off until January although no exact date has been fixed.
Warren’s announcement made no mention of whether Foreman also would be on the card. But the Press Assn., Britain’s news agency, said Foreman’s fight has been scrapped. The former champion is scheduled to challenge current champion Evander Holyfield on April 19.
