Litton Industries Inc.: The electronics and defense systems firm said first-quarter profit totaled $39.6 million, down 9% from the same period a year ago. Revenue rose slightly to $1.2 billion. The Beverly Hills-based company said it repurchased 1.4 million shares of its common stock during the quarter.
