“Pretty Woman” was finally unseated by one of the two hot new macho movies, “Total Recall” and “The Hunt For Red October.” “Total Recall,” the Arnold Schwarzenegger action epic, is the new No. 1 rental on the Billboard magazine chart. Surprisingly, “Hunt,” which figured to be a No. 1 rental for at least a few weeks, has yet to rise to the top. Paramount reported shipping a whopping 430,000 copies to video stores, so there had to be plenty to go around. Still, this movie has not only failed to reach No. 1, but this week even dropped a notch to No. 3. With potential No. 1’s like “Back to the Future Part III” (No. 4) on the rise, “Hunt” may never make No. 1. “Cadillac Man,” featuring Robin Williams and Tim Robbins, debuted at No. 15 and could make the Top 10. Look for No. 25 “Another 48 HRS.” to crack the Top Five next week.

* The Mel Gibson-Goldie Hawn combination was supposed to be box-office magic, at least topping the $100-million mark. Considering those expectations, you’d have to rate “Bird on a Wire” a box-office disappointment since it took in “only” $68.8 million. It’ll be a rental smash, however. “Bird” flew onto the chart at lofty No. 9.
