SHORT TAKES : New Kid Sued; Assault Alleged
Jordan Knight of New Kids on the Block and one of the pop group’s bodyguard are being sued by a man who says he was assaulted in a nightclub.
Douglas Winston of Yonkers, N.Y., charged in a complaint filed in state court Thursday that bodyguard Steven Chandler attacked him without provocation Aug. 8.
He said the incident occurred at an Atlanta nightspot where Chandler and Knight had gone after a performance.
Chandler, arrested and charged with two counts of battery, was freed on $4,500 bail.
The lawsuit seeks payment for medical expenses and punitive damages.
