Readers Disagree on Hockey Violence

Steve Springer’s article (Nov. 21) implies there are so many fights in hockey that we barely get a chance to see the game itself. His statement that teams are engaged in an arms race to see who can acquire the most goons is beyond ludicrous, it is factless. If he had any knowledge of the game, he would have had no reason for writing this article. The era of goon hockey is a decade behind us.
