Dodgers Should Go Back to the Farm

The Dodgers have recently proved that they are going to continue to disregard the very thing that made them great--their farm system. Chris Gwynn and Jose Gonzalez now join the long lineup of used-up rookies who will have spent the best part of their major league years sitting on the bench while the Dodgers buy up aging veterans who have done their best elsewhere.

It seems the Dodgers have forgotten their fans, who look forward to seeing a kid from Bakersfield, San Antonio or Albuquerque make the starting Dodger lineup. Gonzalez, Gwynn and Stan Javier would have been a Dodger field of dreams, but they have bought up spare parts from around the country and built a real clunker.
