Jim Marshall Arrested on Cocaine Charge
Jim Marshall, the former Minnesota Viking All-Pro defensive end, was charged Friday in Duluth, Minn., with one count of third-degree possession of cocaine.
After St. Louis County District Judge Galen Wilson set bail at $5,000, Marshall was released on supervised release bond. His next court appearance is set for Dec. 10.
If convicted of the charge, a felony, Marshall faces a mandatory four-year prison sentence.
Marshall declined to comment.
Marshall was arrested Thursday and held in the St. Louis County Jail overnight.
According to a criminal complaint, police seized two plastic bags containing more than 10 grams of a cocaine mixture.
Marshall, 52, told police he occasionally used cocaine and sold cocaine to friends as a favor, but that he wasn’t a “big drug dealer,” the complaint said.
