Ban on Hormone-Treated Milk Sales Sought: Consumer Reports magazine is urging the FDA to halt the sale of milk from cows being treated with a genetically engineered growth hormone. Questions have been raised about possible health risks of milk containing the hormone, but the FDA and others have argued that bovine growth hormone has no effect on human health. Consumers Union, which publishes Consumer Reports, says the FDA should study the hormone issue further.
