Stephens’ 34 Points Lead UCLA Women

Rehema Stephens, a junior guard, scored 27 of her career-high 34 points in the second half to lead UCLA to a 95-79 victory over Pepperdine in a women’s basketball game at Pauley Pavilion on Monday.

Stephens made 10 of 17 shots from the field and five of six free throws in the second half. Her previous best was the 33 points she scored Friday night against Notre Dame.

UCLA went on a 16-0 run after falling behind, 17-11, in the first half to take control for good. The Bruins won their second game in a row after an 0-3 start.

Kelsey Kline, who scored 18 points, led Pepperdine (2-3).
