A former bouncer pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of murder and kidnaping in the slaying of his ex-girlfriend. Mark Anton Cadiz, 24, of Chula Vista made the plea before Superior Court Judge Jesus Rodriguez, who set trial for Jan. 14.
Cadiz was arrested Sept. 21 in the slaying of Diane Egay Casora, 30, a telephone operator. The body of the slain woman, who had been bound and gagged with wrapping tape, was found Sept. 12 along a road in a rural area of Tijuana.
There is evidence that Casora may have died as a result of a sadomasochistic sexual encounter, investigators said.
