SIMI VALLEY : Man, 31, Convicted of Bank Robbery
A Thousand Oaks man has been convicted in Los Angeles federal court of robbing two banks, including one in Simi Valley, the FBI announced Tuesday.
Jeffery Scott Taylor, 31, pleaded guilty Monday to robbing the Fidelity Federal Bank on the 5700 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley of $2,895, and a Home Federal Bank in La Canada Flintridge of $319.
Taylor was indicted in three other recent robberies in Santa Barbara, Pasadena and Calabasas, but the government dismissed those charges, following Taylor’s guilty plea, said Gary G. Auer, head of the Ventura office of the FBI.
Taylor is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 4 by U.S. District Judge Robert M. Takasugi. He faces a possible 20-year maximum prison sentence.
