In the Laguna Beach Tournament:

Estancia 82, Chino 47--Matt Fuerbringer scored 17 points to lead Estancia (1-0), the preseason top-ranked team in Orange County.

Laguna Beach 66, Fountain Valley 58--Josh Borella had 33 points and Darren Gravely had 15 for Laguna Beach (1-0). Barratt Hoggan scored 16 for Fountain Valley.

In the Daily Pilot Tip-Off Tournament:

Newport Harbor 72, San Dieguito 59--Justin McIntee scored 23 points and added 14 rebounds for host Newport Harbor (3-0), which plays Irvine at 8 tonight in the championship game.

In the Etiwanda girls’ Tournament:

Tustin 89, Victory Valley 43--Tustin set two team records and guard Wanda Sequeira added an individual one in the first-round victory. Tustin’s 89 points were a team record as were the 46 first-quarter points. Tustin led, 46-13, after a quarter.

Sequeira set a record with 22 assists. Christine Garner scored 35 points including 20 in the first quarter and Shari Needham for Tustin (2-0).

In a nonleague girls’ soccer game:

Canyon 0, Santa Margarita 0--Canyon’s Kim Campbell, who led Orange County in scoring last year, twisted her right knee and was carried off the field near the end of the first half. The injury was later diagnosed as sprained ligaments, which will likely keep her out of for two to three weeks. Kelly Forman had nine saves for host Santa Margarita (2-0-1). Tina Thompson had one save for Canyon (1-0-1).

Esperanza 7, Valencia 0--Lynn Murray had three goals and four assists for host Esperanza (3-0). She has scored 10 goals this season. Jenni Coughlin added two goals, Rachel Phefier and Janet Gamblin one each for Esperanza.
