SPORTSCOPE : Torrance Team Wins Youth Basketball League Title

A team from Torrance won the boys 13 and under South Bay Basketball League championship with a 13-1 record. Team members were Dave Brown, Tremaine Mayeaux, David Rangel, Doug Francis, John Ohrenberger, Mateo Camargo and Ryan Bozof. It was coached by Richard J. Camargo of Harbor City.

Jennifer Halladay, a sophomore goalkeeper for Torrance High, has been named for the second consecutive season to the California State Select soccer team for girls under 16.

The Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s basketball team plays host to Cal State Stanislaus Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the University of La Verne on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. The men’s team plays at Southern California College in Costa Mesa Saturday, plays host to Point Loma Thursday and Northern Colorado Dec. 15. All games will be played at 7:30 p.m.
