Phantom of the Boulevard: A remake of the film classic “Sunset Boulevard” is reportedly in the works, but this version will be an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. The composer has reached a deal with Paramount for rights to the 1950 film, Variety’s weekly edition reported Monday. Paramount will co-produce the play. Sources say Lloyd Webber is looking for a lyricist, a director and a female lead. In Billy Wilder’s film “Sunset Boulevard,” Gloria Swanson played aging silent-screen actress Norma Desmond.
