DEATH WATCH: It’s the middle of the holidays, which is also the murder season, and the annual upswing virtually assures that 1990 will be the bloodiest year in county history. . . . New records have been set each of the last two years by large margins (above), and if the trend holds, murders will top 200 this year. It’s not just more murders, says Chief Deputy Coroner Jim Beisner. “They’re more violent. People breaking into houses, stabbings at parties, drive-by shootings. A lot more senseless, it seems.”
