ROUNDUP : Long, Marshall Lead Moorpark to Another Win

The Moorpark College women’s basketball team moved one game closer to a record Tuesday night, as the team won its 11th consecutive game with a 68-62 nonconference victory over Chaffey at Moorpark.

Angie Long scored 22 points and had eight rebounds and Kerrie Marshall added 12 points for Moorpark (11-1).

The school record is 13 consecutive wins.

In other women’s basketball games:

Pt. Loma 100, Occidental 84--Shannon Abrams scored 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to pace Pt. Loma (6-2) to a nonconference win at Occidental.

Jacqui Dent scored 22 points and Stephanie Francis added 17 for Occidental (3-3).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Hart 62, Glendale 45--Anjanette Dionne scored 19 points to lead Hart in a nonleague game at Glendale.

Jenny Dalton scored 19 points for Glendale (3-3) and Nicole White had 10 points and nine rebounds for Hart (6-0).

Alemany 62, El Toro 35--Alemany bombed El Toro, 16-2, in the third quarter in a first-round game of the Brea tournament. Rachel Corelli (18 points) and Tori McCormick (16) led Alemany (3-3).

Chaminade 47, L.A. Baptist 43--Maria Costa scored a team-high 17 points to lead Chaminade (5-1) in a nonleague game at home. Jane Kim had 12 points and nine rebounds for Chaminade.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

City individual semifinals--After winning their respective semifinal matches at The Racquet Centre of Universal City, doubles players Karly Leman and Yael Allswang of Palisades and Stephanie Fontaine and Pam Klosterman of Taft will square off in the City Section final Thursday.

The top-seeded team of Leman and Allswang defeated Mhalo Pena and Rachel Freed of Grant, 6-2, 6-3. Fontaine and Klosterman, seeded second, pounded third-seeded Alice Bou and Courtney Lennard of Palisades, 6-1, 6-2.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Royal 3, Glendora 1--Staci Blough scored four goals for Royal (6-0) in a nonleague match at Glendora.

Granada Hills 3, Kennedy 1--Kristina Miller scored two goals and Kasey Miller added another for Granada Hills (4-1, 1-0) in the Northwest Valley Conference match at Kennedy.

Alemany 3, South Pasadena 1--Amy Sutton scored two goals and assisted on Melody Arbonio’s goal to lead the Indians (3-4) over host South Pasadena in a nonleague match.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Montclair Prep 6, Murphy 2--Joey Meller scored three goals to pace the Mounties’ nonleague victory.
