BankAmerica Unit Signs Union Contract: The agreement between Seafirst Bank in Seattle and 4,600 nonmanagement employees represented by the United Food & Commercial Workers union is believed to be the first contract between a large bank and a major union. It ends a 13-year battle between the two sides. Union officials said they expect to start organizing drives at other banks in Washington.
