Short Takes : Close ‘Not in the Marrying Mood’

NEW YORK —
Glenn Close says she’s enjoying motherhood and the man in her life, but she’s “still not in the marrying mood.”
The 43-year-old actress said that she and film producer John Starke “are committed to each other, and I don’t need a certificate to say so. I’ve been married twice, and I don’t know what good it did for me psychologically.”
She and Starke have a 2-year-old girl, Annie Maude, who Close said in the January issue of Ladies’ Home Journal “has brought me an incredible amount of sensitivity, and I think she’s made me a nicer person.”
“Hamlet,” in which she plays Queen Gertrude, is due out in January.
