Boy, 8, Hit by Car Remains Critical
An 8-year-old boy who was struck by a car after running into traffic in Vista remained in critical condition Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Ciprianon Fonseca-Jaime, who suffered head injuries and a fractured pelvis, remained on life support systems, a Children’s Hospital spokeswoman said.
The boy was hit Friday in the 2200 block of South Santa Fe Avenue in Vista, California Highway Patrol officers said. Several children in a group the boy was with managed to cross the street safely, but Ciprianon darted into the street moments later, he was hit by a westbound car traveling about 35 m.p.h.
No charges are pending against the driver, officers said.
