TUSTIN : Council OKs Pact Raising Officers’ Pay

Share

The City Council on Monday unanimously approved a one-year contract with the Tustin Police Officers Assn., giving officers a 6% salary increase.

The contract will take effect Dec. 31 and will increase the salary range for officers to $2,951 to $3,587 a month.

Union representatives had requested that the city include a modified workweek in the schedule, allowing officers to work four 10-hour days instead of five eight-hour days. But Royleen A. White, director of community and administrative services, said a city study showed that was not feasible.

“At this point the city feels it can’t afford it,” White said.

Members of the union have already voted on the contract and representatives have signed it.
