RETIRING? Although Thomas H. Nielsen is retiring as a top exec with the Irvine Co., he says he’ll stay on the boards of the Newport Harbor Art Museum and the Orange County Performing Arts Center. . . . Nielsen, 60, hopes to be reelected to the museum board, where he is now president, when his term expires next June. He says his “very strong” personal interest in both organizations extends beyond any professional obligation associated with the development firm.
