From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The judge in alleged New York mobster John Gotti’s racketeering case postponed a bail hearing until Friday while he considered a prosecution request to play secretly recorded tapes in court. Prosecutors say the tapes show that Gotti is a threat to the community and should be held without bail. Gotti is accused of ordering the killing of Paul Costellano to take over as boss of the Gambino Family.
