Goaltender Ron Tugnutt signed a contract for one year plus an option with the Quebec Nordiques, the NHL club announced today.
Tugnutt, who was playing out his option, said he signed Monday but didn’t want it made public until after he played two games this week against the Canadiens. The Nordiques beat Montreal in Quebec, 6-4, on Tuesday and they tied, 1-1, Wednesday at Montreal.
“I wanted just to concentrate on those games,” said Tugnutt, who is in his fourth NHL season. “It’s been really long negotiations.”
