Run, Rabbit, Run

If you live near a semi-rural canyon, or other area where rabbits are a problem to your garden or landscape, there is an interesting new biological product that promises some relief.

It’s called Scentfence and it uses the natural scent of a fox, which activates a rabbit’s predator-avoidance behavior and keeps it away from the garden.

According to the company that developed it, a fox’s scent is injected into a plastic wafer which can be hung from a plant or garden stake. It works for up to 45 days and continues working during rain and other weather conditions. It will not wash away, nor will it contaminate the soil.
