World IN BRIEF : ROMANIA : Country’s Former King Is Deported

Romania’s former King Michael was deported less than 12 hours after arriving in Bucharest on his first visit since Communist rulers forced him to abdicate 43 years ago. Michael, 69, had returned a year after the revolution that saw the ouster and execution of dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. Michael was forced to return to Switzerland, where he lives in exile.
