CLIPBOARD : November Sales and Use Tax Revenue

County cities were enriched to the collective tune of $27.2 million in November, in the latest disbursement of sales and use taxes from Sacramento. That was 13% more than last November. And while every city received more than in 1989, some did much better than others.

Each month, city and county governments and other governmental organizations receive payments from the state in anticipation of actual sales tax revenues. In the fourth month, they receive a cleanup payment--the difference between actual revenues and the amounts previously received--plus the first advance payment for the next quarter. The amounts listed here are for the third advancement payment for the third quarter of 1990.
