An 18-year-old woman was fatally shot and a second woman was wounded in the 1100 block of Broadway in downtown San Diego, police said Saturday.
The county coroner’s office identified the dead woman as Marisol Tirado. Police found her about 8:15 p.m. Friday slumped in the doorway of a business on the north side of the street with a single bullet wound to the head.
The second victim, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the face, police said. She was listed in good condition Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Homicide detectives investigating the shooting had not determined a motive nor did they know whether the womens’ assailant was on foot or in a car, police said.
