Tony Clark, disenchanted by a lack of playing time at the University of Arizona, is leaving the basketball program there and enrolling at San Diego State.

The 6-foot-8 forward, who also was the second choice overall in baseball’s amateur draft last June, will enroll for the upcoming spring semester, which starts Jan. 28, Aztecs Coach Jim Brandenburg said Thursday night.

Clark led the state in scoring last year with 43.7 points per game for Christian High School in suburban El Cajon. He was the Detroit Tigers’ top draft pick, signing with the American League club last July.
