Other Aztec Highland Tournament games:

El Cajon Valley 58, Montgomery 47--Mike Stadler (24) and Chris Tippett (15) combined for 39 points to lead El Cajon in the third-place game.

Hoover 68, Castle Park 66--In the consolation championship, Roger Blake scored 27 points for Hoover. Teammate Mike Martin added 19. Eric Bell contributed 22 points for Castle Park.

Mar Vista 56, West Hills 53--Mar Vista’s big second quarter, when the Mariners outscored West Hills, 21-10, withstood the Wolf Pack’s second half charge. Chris Anglin led Mar Vista with 25 points. Steve Porier (15) and Tony Simocini (14) paced West Hills in the seventh-place game.

Valhalla Tournament:

Valhalla 69, Sweetwater 57--Guard Mark Dillon scored a game-high 23 points to lead Valhalla, which was undefeated in the tournament. Dillon now has 79 three-pointers in 17 games. Saturday he had three. Cole Deneen added 10 points and 15 rebounds for Valhalla (12-5).

Santana Tournament:

Grossmont 70, Patrick Henry 63--Grossmont (8-5) made the most of its free throws, making 26 of 31, to win in double overtime over Patrick Henry (5-9) at Santana. Mike Kingsley had 23 points, Ryan Gregory 14 and Jean Beauville 12 for the Foothillers, who forced the game in the second overtime by scoring all four of its points in the first overtime on free throws. Patrick Henry made up a 10-point defecit in the fourth quarter and John Pike (19 points, 13 in regulation) made a clutch three-pointer to tie the game with 30 seconds left and a field goal 15 seconds later to send the game into overtime. Marlon Franklin led the Patriots with 20 points.

Madhouse Roundup:

Clairemont 76, University City 62--In a bizarre second half at Madison High, No. 6 University City outscored Clairemont 24-9 in the third quarter, before the Chieftians took it to the Centurions, 29-8, in the fourth. Alex Love had 13 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth and John Brady, a sophomore, finished with 17 rebounds, and had nine of his 23 points in the final quarter for Clairemont (3-6).

Madison 69, Point Loma 61--Hooney Kim scored 21 points as Madison (7-5) held off a late rally by Point Loma (2-12) at home. Point Loma’s Eddie Greer made nine of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 points. Justin Miller also had 15 for Point Loma.

Nonleague:

Bishop’s 63, Imperial 50--Steve Runyan’s 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists led Bishop’s (9-2) at Imperial (4-7). Teammate Garrett Guess contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Boys’ Soccer

Southwest Tournament:

Southwest 4, Sweetwater 1--Southwest (9-1-2) won the championship over previously unbeaten Sweetwater (13-1-1) as Tom Valles and Isaac Rodriguez scored first-half goals on direct free kicks.
