If you go: The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is open after Labor Day through June 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; July through Labor Day, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Admission is $5; seniors and students under 15, $3; children 8 and under are admitted free with parents.

The Hall of Fame is celebrating basketball’s centennial throughout 1991, and a number of special events are planned. UCLA will play Indiana next Nov. 15 in the 12th annual Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic at the Springfield Civic Center. Tickets, at $20, are available by mail only. Write to the Tip-Off Classic Committee, P.O. Box 1660, Springfield, Mass. 01101. There is a $1 service charge per order.
